FUSE FRIDAY’S: The Ultimate Party feat 5 Seconds of Summer

 

To celebrate the upcoming game release of SingStar: Ultimate Party featuring music from 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS), Fuse & PlayStation have been working together with the boy band to launch the 5SOS Derp Con campaign. The campaign gives Aussie fans the chance to win 3 of only 60 global tickets to the band’s first ever fan convention in LA. The competition launched this week, inviting die-hard fans to Westfields in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to win their way to Derp Con and test out their skills in PlayStation’s SingStar: Ultimate Party Booth.

The 5SOS and PlayStation partnership has brought together multiple parties including Universal Music, oOh, SCA, tkm9, Katana & Seven to form a band of our own and bring this all to life.

How do you get to Derp Con you ask? Well, to win in Australia, fans are being encouraged to head down to Westfield’s in Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne to interact with the #5SOSFANCAM. The way it works is that individuals & groups stand in front of the FANCAM super computer which looks like a giant PlayStation. The 5SOS enthusiasts are then presented with band related questions & challenges to respond to. This is their chance to win! And believe me, these fans are dedicated. Some I spoke to travelled hours just to see it.

4While fans are there, they have the opportunity to sing along with the band to their hit track She Looks So Perfect at the SingStar Booth. Participants can play #SingStar with their friends & derp out (5SOS term for goofing around basically). This is then captured as a 15 second sharable music video featuring the 5SOS boys in the background. OMG HOW KEWL!

As if that’s not exciting enough, fans partying up in the SingStar Booth are also among the first in Australia to play the game before it’s released later this month on Oct 29th.

Did I mention, you can use your mobile phone as a microphone!? WUT.

A massive partnership (doesn’t get much bigger than 5SOS right now), for a product that is so intrinsically linked (5SOS on SingStar #hello), in a category that their target loves (music)! Guess you could call it a match made in brand heaven! If a partnership could look so perfect

The overall messaging couldn’t be more aligned either as the SingStar tag line, “Everyone’s Got What it Takes!” is a natural fit and supporting CTA message for fans hoping to get to #5SOSDerpCon to meet the boys in LA. (Secretly wish I could go.)
