With the Xmas quarter set to be the largest for mobile revenues, we thought it might be timely to review the recent IAB PWC Online Advertising Expenditure Report FY 2014. The report is compiled from actual publisher financial data with estimates where data is unavailable. We put our creative hat on and produced this infographic to flag some of the key data points. https://magic.piktochart.com/output/3481656-infographci-iab-spend-q2-2014
Some bits to note…
- Spend on Mobile Advertising was $620 million for the FY 2014 (a 345% increase year on year)
- Mobile Display Advertising accounted for 22.5% of General Display expenditure
- Relatively even split between smartphone and tablet revenues (54% and 46% respectively)
- Google and Facebook will be accounting for much of the increases. 66% of Facebooks advertising revenue is via mobile and it accounts for 90% of its revenue growth.
With retailers in the US & UK now reporting the majority of their traffic is coming via smartphone, this trend will only become more pronounced over time.
