We’re jamming, jamming…

OMD Jam Session #1

At OMD we live and breathe our values and this time was about putting the spotlight on ‘Authentic’ and ‘Fun Matters’…

Last Friday in Melbourne we held our first ‘Jam Session’ on the topic of innovation for Oakley, a client that lives and breathes the challenge of consistently reinventing the sports and apparel category.

The session was presented by our Strategy Director Sergio Brodsky, whose experience of working with innovation spans across different categories and geographies, and Leah Morris, Oakley’s account executive and a driving force raising the bar of our efforts towards ever most innovative approaches and solutions.

Our guests learnt about what makes an innovation disruptive and why businesses may opt for a sustained approach, radical design or incremental programme and the implications for their marketing strategies and organisational capabilities.

They were also quizzed, participated in interactive exercises, had some fun trying on Google’s Cardboard and were treated with cold beer, already prompting for a fun weekend ahead!

According to Ben Goss, Oakley’s Marketing Director “The interaction was great. I think you had a good balance of thought provoking questions, good insights and activity. Great Job!”

The intention behind our Jam Sessions is to add value to our clients with content that supports their business and media objectives from a different angle. We don’t always have the chance to explore our resources and individual talents and the Jam Sessions represent a great opportunity to re-energise both our client relationships as well as our strategic thinking.
